Marjukka Tepponen returns to Bregenz as Violetta in La Traviata
Marjukka Tepponen returns to the spectacular stage of the Bregenzer Festspiele this summer, taking on one of opera’s most iconic roles: Violetta Valéry in Verdi’s La Traviata.
The new production premieres at the Bregenzer Festspiele on 22 July, marking Tepponen’s return to the Seebühne in Bregenz. Directed by Damiano Michieletto, the staging transports Verdi’s timeless tragedy into the dazzling and decadent world of the Roaring Twenties.
Tepponen is joined by Julien Behr as Alfredo Germont, Vladimir Stoyanov as Giorgio Germont, Michael C. Havlicek as Baron Douphol, Angela Simkin as Flora and Francisco Brito as Gastone. Kirill Karabits conducts.
With its spectacular setting, lavish 1920s-inspired world and Verdi’s unforgettable score, the production promises a striking new chapter for La Traviata on the Seebühne.
